چکیده

The contribution of different adsorption processes to soil organic matter (SOM) stabilization and the consequences intensification land use on SOM are not yet fully understood. Therefore, this study aimed explore dissolved carbon (DOC) in soils as well desorption (OC) caused by phosphate addition. We conducted sorption experiments with DOC, (Na2HPO4), chloride (KCl) topsoil subsoil samples from a Ferralsol, an Andosol, Podzol. Furthermore, we quantified size DOC size-exclusion chromatography. found that addition strong increase concentration all soils. was elevated up factor 4.5 compared control (water only) within five minutes after kept increasing further time, particularly Ferralsol. After 10 days, concentrations P treatment were between 5.5 18.0 times higher than treatment. In contrast, did lead increased only). Phosphate led mostly medium molecular (10–100 100–1000 kDa) Ferralsol Andosol large (>1000 potassium shifted distribution solution towards small compounds (<10 kDa), likely because KCl affected aggregation compounds, contrast Na2HPO4 also decreased subsequent 2.9 2.1, respectively. Our results have far-reaching implications they show can desorption, thus destabilization SOM, Ferralsols, prevent provides mechanistic explanation why decrease sequestration stabilization. This mechanism should be considered analysis land-use tillage effects future. our indicates is stabilized through

Sorption, degradation and leaching of pesticides in soils amended with organic matter: A review

The use of pesticides in modern agriculture is unavoidable because they are required to control weeds. Pesticides are poisonous; hence, they are dangerous if misused. Understanding the fate of pesticides will be useful to use them safely. Therefore, contaminations of water and soil resources could be avoided. The fates of pesticides in soils are influenced by their sorption, decomposition and m...

Kinetics of copper desorption from soils as affected by different organic ligands

*Corresponding Author Email: [email protected] Tel.: +2 0359 04684; Fax: +2 0359 04684 ABSTRACT: Desorption of Cu and low molecular weight dissolved organics are the primary factors that impact fate and transport of Cu in soils. To improve predictions of the toxicity and threat from Cu contaminated soil, it is critical that time-dependent desorption behavior be understood. In this paper, the...

Competitive sorption between glyphosate and inorganic phosphate on clay minerals and low organic matter soils

Inorganic phosphate may influence the adsorption of glyphosate to soil surface sites. It has been postulated that glyphosate sorption is dominated by the phosphoric acid moiety, therefore, inorganic phosphate could compete with glyphosate for surface sorption sites. We examine sorption of glyphosate in low organic carbon systems where clay minerals dominate the available adsorption sites using ...

Effect of Co-existing Heavy Metals and Natural Organic Matter on Sorption/Desorption of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Soil: A Review

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), abundant in mixed contaminant sites, often coexist with heavy metals. The fate and remediation of PAHs depend heavily on the sorption and desorption behavior of these contaminants. The sorption behavior can in turn be highly affected by certain soil components and properties, such as soil organic matter (SOM) and the presence of heavy metals. Through rev...
